We spend a lot of money investing in someone else’s ideas but with the downturn in the stock market, this is a good idea to start investing in our own. Art represents a broad form of expression, endless really, that gives us tremendous variety to express how we really feel. Life has movement and much of our art expresses how we feel at any particular time, an accumulation of a wealth of experiences that can produce something wholly original and new. Truly great art requires a great deal of patience for we are like good parents who fuss over our young, encouraging greater range and versatility as we look for just the right way to express our inspiration.
Art is often devoid of meaning when it does not speak more freely to how we really feel. Recovering our deeper feelings can be at times excruciatingly painful, like birthing out a new baby, but the joy is in knowing we have created something that is truly alive. The release of fear is usually the greatest source of our pain so we need to give ourselves a break and allow love to filter through to give us the guidance we need to express ourselves more clearly without fear.
Our inspiration typically lays buried under a big pile of mud, of muddled feelings and emotions that need to be washed off with loving care. Some need to be laid to rest for they do not produce real life. We are sometimes conditioned to believe that our emotions should be reined in, like a horse broken to improve performance. But the wilds of nature remind us that our wilder nature plays a vital role in understanding how life forms and springs anew. Great work comes through a vital link to love and life and the willingness to say what really must be said.
When in doubt, look to love, life, and the love of life and search through feeling to find what it is you are really looking for. It is time that we allow our range to move beyond old limitations toward a wealth that is real. Sing out loud, dance to your heart’s content, and do what comes naturally and the rest will follow.
